my pc recently froze so I had to turn it off with out shutting down properly after that I tried to start it again but to no avail,It would light up RED not BLUE (around the start power button)then the fan would kick in for about two seconds and then it would stop and shut down.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Is there any beeps? Froze means overheating look inside your machine is there a lot of dust inside? You might have a dead cpu.

Take out all card, Hard drives, CD-drives. Add one back at a time until the system does not start up. That will tell you which piece is bad. If that does not work you have a dead PSU, CPU, or Motherboard.

A new cpu might be cheaper. What is the cpu specs? What is the make and model of the machine. We can look it up for you. If it is a custom build what is the make and model of the motherboard? Take your Desktop to a Pc repair shop ask them to look to see if the cpu is dead.
