Hi all,

I have a really annoying problem that Ive not found a solution to.

I have a Vista ultimate PC with a core 2 duo cpu.

Last week my PSU failed and I replaced it however since then on of the cores on my CPU constantly shows at 80-100% even when idle. In safe mode it sits at 40-50% so still doing something but not as much.

Running a bootable CD version of Ubuntu and both cores are normal.

Ive re-installed Vista from scratch and problem still remains.

Anyone able to offer any advice as Im at my wits end and dont want to have to randomly start replacing parts which may not be faulty.

thanks
