My notebook doesn't recognize my internal speakers anymore

This is a discussion on My notebook doesn't recognize my internal speakers anymore within the Windows 7 Support, Windows Vista Support forums, part of the Tech Support Forum category. Even when I go to the control panel for audio devices, nothing comes up. Is anyone familiar with this problem

Go to Device Manager, expand the "sound..." tree, uninstall each one via RIGHT-click, select "uninstall"

Re-boot. Vista will re-install upon boot-up.
