Laptop turns on, i hear the fan but it wont boot up to the desktop, Windows 7. Please advise.

How long does the computer stay on for?
Try to Take out the battery, unplug the power cable then press and hold the power button for 30 - 45 seconds. Then put the battery back in then the power cable. Try to boot the laptop.
