I have a Vista Laptop that is not charging at times. The power jack it pushed in and both my chargers spark when I move the plug around so it could charge. I don’t know if it’s my laptop or the Charger. Should I get the power jack fixed, get a new battery or a new charger? Please Help!!

Esmmy, look in the hole on your laptop where the power adapter would plug in and you'll see the silver power pin. Using a push button pen, put it on the end of the power pin and see if you can move the pin at all. Any movement on that pin means it's broken and the DC Jack needs to be replaced. Most DC Jacks are soldered to the motherboard and need to be repaired by someone experienced in desoldering and soldering.

If the DC Jack is broken, the power adapter won't charge your battery since it's not making a solid connection inside. Moving it around too much while plugged in could short something, cause further damage or even a fire.. Best to have it repaired by an experienced technician.
