Hey, I have an HP Pavilion Dv6 Laptop. It runs Windows 7. My laptop keyboard suddenly one day started malfunctioning. It didn't get wet, nor did I ever remove any of the keys. Just randomly some keys started having extra letters added. Here are some examples:

When I type: I get:
g gt5
t gt5
5 gt5
h hy6
y hy6
6 hy6
' '[-
[ '[-
- '[-

Help!!!! My backspace button also doesn't work, it deletes one space but replaces it with a backslash so i have to go back and use my keypad "delete" button to get rid of unwanted letters in my messages

Hi jc1691, welcome to TSF

is the laptop under warranty? hook up a usb keyboard does it do the same thing or work correctly. another thing you can try is uninstalling the keyboard in device manager and restart laptop will load keyboard when restarted.

Mark thread solved under thread tools when issue has been resolved.
