I'm unsure where to post this because I do not know what it causing the computer to crash. Can anyone help?

Blue screens when reaches a certain temperature it seems. I have down loaded speed fan to monitor.

If I place computer on my lap it's temp rises quickly and eventually bluescreens.

If I lift the back up off the table and prop it, and place a fan behind it to increase airflow it runs fine.

Is there some sort of diagnostic someone could walk me through?

Not a diagnostic, more of a simple check - - make sure all the air vents on the laptop (usually situated underneath & on the sides) are clear of fluff & dust build-up.

Also, avoid using it on your lap unless it's sitting on a hard, flat surface such as a meal tray. When placed directly on your lap it can overheat because your clothing and the uneven surface are blocking one or more of the air vents.

Thanks for the advice but its not that simple. Air vents have been clean and this problem still exists even on a flat surfice. The only wait i can stustain use over a period of time with several applications running at the same time is by proping up the back end and forcing more air underneith via fan
