I have a acer laptop that now has a trojan on it. I totally froze up and wouldn't do any thing. My son put in the backup disks that I made when first got laptop (before we used it). I don't know what he did, but when I turn on the laptop and hold alt down and tap F10 it does not bring up the screen that should give me the 4 options one of which is to restore system from cd/dvd to totally format back to orginal factory settings. Can anybody help me and give me step by step directions on how to do this? Thanks so much.

Wipe the HDD with KillDisk - http://jcgriff2.com/killdisk_imgburn.html

Then use Windows 7 recovery DVD to reinstall the OS.

Happy New Year !

I am sorry that I have so many questions here about getting my acer laptop back up and running. I burned a cd with killdisk, put it in laptop, turned it on, it said that it was starting windows, set up was preparing computer for first use, then a box pops up that says "the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error, windows installation can not proceed. to install windows, click ok to restart the computer and then restart the installlation." No matter what i do this is what I endup with and can't get any farther. When I turn on the computer it does this even with no disk in. Can you help me by tellling mestep by step on what to do?
