I'm get'n the blue screen of death during the installation of Win Xp pro service pack 2. I've tried reaching Gateway for support and were no help @ all. Their website wasnt 2 helpful either. The error code I'm get'n is
0x0000007B(0XF78DA63C,0XC0000034,0X00000000,0X00000000). If anyone knows of a way to fix this headache, please let me know.

Are you trying to install over the top of vista? I would try doing a disk format first and then install xp as a new operating system.

At what point do you get the BSOD? . . it may be due to the sata drive:

Most newer BIOS allow an Alternate method for SATA . . Go into the bios and check the "Sata Operation" setting, change it to "Raid Autodetect/ATA if it is not already. Now try to install XP ( Verbage will vary by manufacturer )

Have you made double-dog sure you can find XP drivers for this pc?

I did go in to the bios to change the sata setting to raid/ata, but I can't seem to have the option to change it. I did format the hard drive, then tried going into the bios, but unfortunately the bios won't let me change that setting. I then tried downloading the miniport, hdd, and controller drivers to put on a floppy. I was told to do that, then select f6 during the Xp installation to finalize the installation, but cant seem to find those drivers for this Gateway M-7343 laptop. Could you please give help me out with this big problem. THX
