I have a Dell Inspirion 518 with Windows Vista.
I recently went on vacation and shut down my computer.
Asusual, I did not stay with the computer as it powered down.
I have had no real issues with the computer; it is a few years old.
Upon my return from vacation, I try to boot my computer to find that it will not power up and the monior is black.
I failed to turn off the monitor when I left and the light is yellow/orange.
When I hit the power button on the monitor I get a message "entering powersave mode".
This has happened in the past and I have unplugged the cpu for a short period of time and then have been able to boot the computer.
THIS time I am unable to power up AT ALL!
I have done some research.
I have tried a new power cable without success.
I have opened the box and unplugged all components and re-connected including the harddrive and memory.
There is no light around the power button on the cpu even after holding in for at least 30seconds after unplugging and plugging back in.
There is a green light near the power supply on the back of the cpu.
There is a yellow light lite on the motherboard.
I have also removed the cell battery which stores the date, time, etc.
HELP!!!! Please....
