I've tried uninstall/reinstall Microsoft.NET framework 4.5.2 - didn't help.
I've also tried Add/Remove Snap-in and console root is the only one selected.
Try the .NET Framework Setup Verification Tool
Also, go to Start/Search and type CMD, right click the CMD results and Run As Administrator. In the Elevated Command Prompt type SFC /scannow and press enter. This will replace any missing system files.
No, what did SFC /scannow say at the end? Did it say, there were no violations? Or did it say it could not fix some errors?
If the later, run SFCFix.exe after that is done, run SFC /scannow again.
I ran SFCFix.exe which found and fixed 2 errors, then ran SFC /scannow which showed zero errors this time (yay), unfortunately I'm still getting the same error pop-up from original post.
can you run Event Viewer now?
Go to Start/Search and type appwiz.cpl and press enter. In Programs and Features, scroll down to .Net Framework, right click it and choose Uninstall/Change choose to Repair .Net Framwork.
Btw to add some context, I've only just started getting these errors since trying to upgrade to Windows 10, which has been failing. Gets most of the way through the process, then BAD_POOL_HEADER and reverts back to Win 7. After reboot, Windows Update shows the upgrade failed with error C1900101-4000D.
This may be caused by Bad Sectors on your HDD. Go to Start/Search and type CMD, Right click the CMD results and Run As Administrator. In the Elevated Command Prompt type chkdsk /R and press enter. Now type a Y for Yes and reboot the computer. Check Disk will run at next bootup and go through 5 stages and may take a while.
Chkdsk showed 0 bad sectors, and your other ideas link didn't prove fruitful.
Any OTHER other ideas?
