Dual monitors vista

I'm using vista and want to set up so i can use my monitor and my LCD TV. At the rear of my computer I have two VGA ports, I have two VGA leads and my TV has a built in VGA lead. Can I just plug it in for it to work?

If so I've tried this and the TV screen just displays a message saying "No Signal". Any advice is appreciated.

Im sorry, but then, im blank out of ideas. I'm not very helpful, and mostly just here to read threads to learn more about computers, though i try to help with what little i know. You're gonna have to wait for someone smarter to help you, sorry =/

Hi-

Can you please post a screen shot of the "screensettings" page so we can see if it's set up correctly.

Does you graphics card support duel monitors? Also: are you trying to have two moniters showing the same exact picture, or "extending" the desktop by having everything be able to interchange between them (example: having IE on one screen and MS word on the other)?

Regards,

Mark

@lool123- well its good that your sticking around and learning, you can be surprised how much you learn here, i started the same way as you, and now i know *A LOT* more than when i started.

I thought about the "If the Graphics card supports 2 monitors" as well, but since they put in 2 VGA ports, i figured that was logical.

Also, what you could do, is buy a split VGA cable. 1 end that goes into the computer that splits up into 2 ends that goes into each their monitor (Monitor/TV).

Hi-

The VGA splitter will only allow you to see two of the same thing on both screens, which I do not know what you want, as stated in my post above: i am unsure whether you want to see the same image or an extended desktop.

Mark
