Digital pictures/ xp/vista/dvd

Hi can you help, I recently went to egypt for work but managed to take some picture on my digital camera, as I took so many and filled my camera memory card up I downloaded them on my friends laptop witch is running vista, he burnt them to dvd disc but hasnt finalised them because we were adding pictures to disc when the card was full, the problem I am having is that although you could view them on his laptop, I cant view them on xp or my various dvd players, could you please help or tell me the best forum to post this in.Thanks............Vista grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr:4-dontkno

Hi Terry

Have you ever had any trouble reading DVDs with the player in your XP computer? Some DVD drives are very picky about the media (the type of DVD) that data is written onto, and have trouble reading some types.

See if your friend can try recording the photos onto a disc of a different type (for example, a DVD-R instead of a DVD+R, or vice versa).

Another alternative is to transfer the photos via USB key.

I'm not sure that Vista is the source of the problem, but we'll listen in to see what results you find.
