I have a Dell Vista machine that I am trying to reload the operating system on to. Currently the PC will not boot. I have the restore disks and want to restore Vista but the PC will not read the DVD drive. How can I get the PC to read the DVD drive?
Thanks for your help.

Hi Tweak2 and Welcome to TSF,

Do you see the "Press any key to boot from CD/DVD..." message during startup or not?
If it's shown but not loaded properly, make sure the disc is fine by trying it in another machine.

If you don't see that message you need to access BIOS to change the Boot Priority, to set the machine to boot from CD/DVD first.

To do so, press "DEL" during startup until you get into BIOS. Look for "Boot priority" / "Boot order" settings, and set CD/DVD as 1st boot.
