well just thought could be over heating which in turn could cause all sorts of problems. run cpuid from my signature and see what the temps are when it happens.

also, note that when i say alt tabbing i dont actually mean that it is alt tabbing, more less just getting kicked out of any game onto the desktop. so there is no alt tab menu to choose what task i want to choose

What firewall and antivirus do you use? Are they set not to notify when a full screen app or game is running (gaming mode)?

On many modern games, there is an exclusive full screen mode, if you can find this setting, test it.

Block Skype from auto starting during testing, it could be that something like status messages from it are interfering.

Hi, just had a read through this, caught my interest, laptops aren't gaming machines they were simple not designed for it. I agree with Satrow it's almost like something is stealing focus from the running program. You see certain processes are set to run at high priority, windows updates Anti Virus updates etc... if they kick in your running process will be effected.

Have you tried running the games in safe mode with networking?

We need to know more about your system go to start search and type:- cmd, right click on the returned cmd.exe and select "run as administrator" at the prompt copy paste:-

Code:
echo > 0 & tasklist /v >> 0 & net start >> 0 & systeminfo >> 0 & echo >> 0 & notepad 0
press enter, please post the notepad outcome here.

BTW, you can delete the "Hotfix's (windows updates) from the notepad, we don't need them, we do need the network card info though.

Yes, snip out all the individual hotfix data, but leave in the highest entry - total hotfix#, that gives us a rough idea of how 'up-to-date' Windows is ('rough' because it will vary according to how much non-Windows MS software you have installed).

Many games will not play in Safe Mode, Windows does not load fully-capable drivers, only basic 'safe' ones.

Something's certainly wrong, if the cross-reference to my system is valid.

The N/A's at the end of almost all the running processes stats should be listing the Login name responsible for it: the core Windows processes (the upper entries) should be NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM etc. and the User processes below them should be in the format 'Computer name\User name' (gamerone00-PC\gamerone00).

I really don't have much of an idea why that should be, or whether it's related to the focus problems. I think we'll need to wait for jenae's opinion.

What Symantec/Norton software do you use, just Norton Internet Security? Is it fully enabled, is it 'sandboxing' anything?

What virtualisation type software do you use/have installed; DaemonTools + ?
