acer extensa laptop help

I have an Acer Extensa 5420 laptop running windows Vista home premium.
I am having a recent issue with it.
i was trying to use Windows DVD Maker to burn a dvd and after about 5 minutes of it encoding, the whole computer shut down no errors or shut down screen. it just shut down.
i have also experienced this problem with Reel Deal Slots: Ghost Town.
i was in the middle of playing and again it just shut down with no warning or errors.
it has not done this with any other programs i have.
is there a fix for this?

well i think i figured it out. i urned the computer over and took the bottom off and took the fan out and cleaned it. and the heatsink had about a quarter inch of dust buildup. so now everything runs fine.
i guess that windows dvd maker must be a big program that makes the computer get too hot. as for the reel deal game i guess thats the same. must be too much graphics and video and it gets hot as well.
anyway i can now burn DVD's again without a shutdown.
