The LT-600P is uncertified a Solytech built unit with only 485w on the 12v side, that's low by today's standards.
To clarify, having only 485 on the 12V side is not a factor as far as this supply being uncertified. That is just how it was designed to distribute its power and is not an indication of quality, reliability, or efficiency.

Being "uncertified" means this supply is not 80 PLUS certified to ensure at least an 82% "flat" efficiency rating across "all" realistic loads.

And a quick look at the specs for that supply clearly shows why it could never pass certification tests,
70% typical at nominal line, maximum load.
All PSUs are inefficient by nature compared to other electronic devices. But 70%, typical 15 - 20 years ago, is poor by today's standards as it means for every 100W this PSU draws from the wall, 30W will be totally wasted in the form of heat blown out the back of the PSU and into your room. Since this was a gift from a friend, it would not be right to bash this PSU outright. For sure, I suspect this PSU will provide you years of quality and quiet service.
