Is the printer on the LAN or directly connected to a PC/server? Some drivers don't/won't work between some OS's.
I had a similar issue with my last HP printer. The printer was attached to a XP machine, and a Vista laptop could not pull the drivers. There was no fix except to replace the printer. With that said, it was a known issue, and noted on the HP website.
Well these printers are all connected to the LAN via Hp Direct Jet and we are able to install the printers on a couple of Windows 7 computers but we had to install the drivers indiviually.
Then all you should need to do is download the HP software and drivers for whichever OS that you require. HP has the software/drivers available on their website.
I was hoping that there was another way to do this rather than me going to 200 machines and indiviually trying to install the drivers for each computer but looks like I will have to do that if there is no other solution
There isn't a faster way for the normal user. Depending on how your network is managed, you can push the drivers the same as you do any other Windows update or software patch.
