Hello guys,
not sure how to approach this...
I got 640GB hard drive with win xp 32bit 3 partitions, C:\ 50GB with system, D:\ E:\ for storage (videos, pic, audio..).
Will thous storage partitions will be readable after I format C:\ and put all hard drive in windows 7 64bit system?
If you simply install Windows 7 onto the C: drive the D: and E: partitions should not be touched. that said, BACKUP YOUR DATA. If the data is important to you, back it up before attempting a clean install.
I want to make all 640GB Hard drive storage unit only, I bought ssd, windows 7 64 bit is installed on that ssd.
Is backup necessary in this situation? All I need to save is 450GB of audio and video in D:\ , so I could just copy it to external Hard drive.
so my question again, will 64bit os be able to read that hard drive?
If SSD has Windows on it, then you can use the 640GB HDD as Storage. You can format the Windows partition of the HDD for more space if you like but not necessary. 64Bit and 32 bit (x86) can both read your storage HDD.
