[SOLVED] laptop can't find hard drive.

i have compaq laptop cq690-418ca. i restarted my laptop nd next i see was to need to boot.so after while i decided to start the recovery. then it shoes no hard drive found??? hdd is there and is hitachi 5k500 b 160.

what should i do?

My System


Boot into the the System Setup (BIOS) menu and check to see if the hard drive is detected.

Test the hard drive using the manufacturer diagnostics.

i did it it says hdd not detected. but its there.

You did what? Ran the manufacturer diagnostics?

There could be a problem with the drive.

-Remove the power and battery
-Press and hold the power button for 30-45 seconds
-Remove the hard drive and re-insert making sure connected properly
-Install the battery and see if any changes

dosnt work i tried. i used hiren boot to make partion but dosnt deted the hdd

Most likely at this point the hard drive has failed and will need to be replaced.
