My friend has asked me for some information on how to install and configure software on HP Envy 15-1060ea Notebook PC. It was dropped off a counter in the shop and the original HDD got damaged so her dad installed a new 500G HDD
Looking for information on how to configure my new 500G HDD installed on the laptop. I have recovery disks etc but having trouble installing Windows
Perhaps more then the HDD got damaged?
What are the problems you are having?
All you should need to do is Boot off recovery CD and follow the prompts to restore Windows.
Could be more although her father managed to load up the repair disks to 40%, that's as far as he got. What else could it be? Also I can't seem to load into the BIOS (f10)
If you can't load the Bios, and you can't get past 40% on the reinstall, that would suggest that the RAM could be bad, could be a motherboard problem, or possibly a few other things that could have happened due to the fall.
Is the keyboard even working? Perhaps you should try connecting an external keyboard and see if it responds to the f10 key press.
