I am wondering are there any concerns I should have about sending an external hard drive (loaded with information) through the mail? I need to send it from the United States to the UK. I have no clue but thought perhaps during shipment it could be subjected to something that would damage the contents, like scanners or something. If so is there is something that can be done to protect it?
Thanks in advance!
James

Pack it like it was a $1,000,000 piece of artwork made of glass.

Scanners are irrelevant, but you must ensure that it does not suffer shocks. It's very fragile.

Oh, and don't forget to make a backup!

Thanks, and I imagine I can pack it well, but any suggestions? Lots of styrofoam peanuts? wrap it in a pillow?

google is your friend

see thie following instructions, though its for internal drives, it would work for external though I dont think you would need the antistatic bag...
