Re: HARDDRIVE WIPED!!!

Hi MrDeanoEllis,

Can you please elaborate more on your problem? Was data wiped off your hard-drive accidental? Are you trying to retrieve your data?

Re: HARDDRIVE WIPED!!!

Well My Computer kept going to blue screen, so I decided to restore it to factory settings awhile back, but right at the end of the restore (96%) we had a powercut so all the power went of. I then tried to start it up again but it would not start up, since then I have been adviced to format both my drivers (but the guy giving my advice stopped replying) so im pretty much just left with a system that cant load anything up :)

Re: HARDDRIVE WIPED!!!

Hi MrDeanoEllis,

You said you tried to restore your computer to factory settings. Did you get a chance you back up the data on your computer beforehand? Are you tyring to salvage your data in addition to restoring your computer to it's working state?

Re: HARDDRIVE WIPED!!!

The one item you need before anything else is a Genuine copy of Windows.

Your other threads have been merged and closed.

This was absolutely the correct answer - Win7 SP1 x64 not installing

That link you provided is for the W7 Service Pack only, not the OS. I don't know what was on the disc your friend gave you.

My System

Re: HARDDRIVE WIPED!!!

First of all have you tried using the recovery partition again? Tapping F8 continuously after pressing the power button is the normal way for most units to do so. If you can get to the "Repair Your Computer" choice, from "cmd" then hit "enter", type "chkdsk /r" and enter then "Y" for yes to do on restart and restart system.
If none of this is possible you have told uas nothing about system or hardware but all brand name mfgrs have restore disks you can buy that will put Windows and programs back on hard drive and most are around $20+ freight.
