external hdd says local disk and can't access

hello i'm new here and i have a problem with my transcend 320gb storejet 25p
i've read the sticky thread and used the test disk up to the latter and i got as in the image. during scanning i found that when it reach a certain file it will stay there for awhile before moving on. the disk management says its healthy and working fine
the HDD (i'm assuming) has never been dropped or had any physical damage.
i ran the chkdsk/r f: on the hdd an it stops at step 4/5 at 10%.
i'm guessing there must be some faulty files in there that is restricting access to the hdd
can anyone help with this problem... i'm using windows 7 OS and i can't get any other OS to work with for the time being
i'm wondering maybe it's due to the RAW format of the HDD

RAW simply means the partition/formatting information is corrupted or missing.

The fact that your testing consistently fails at about the same location, would seem to indicate there is a hardware issue with the drive.

The best thing to do would be to try and test the drive with the HDD manufacturers disk tools. But without opening the enclosure, you aren't likely to figure out which brand of disk is used.

Give Partition Table Doctor a try and see what it can find.
