I have windows 2000 and have been tring to reformat it. It says that I can't because I have a program running, but there isn't. I am wanting to completely wipe out everything. Any suggestiions!! Help Please

Do a search and find a free copy of kill disk, you will have to create a
floppy, set boot order to a: first and boot to the disk you have created.
It works great.

you cannot reformat your operating system drive from within windows
use the tools from the hard drive manufacturers download section
you have to put the tool on a floppy and then boot from the floppy
