I bought a new hard drive recently and a new external case to put it in. However, when I go to turn it off sometimes, I'm greeted with a Blue Screen of Death with the following information:
Error code 00000024, parameter1 001902fe, parameter2 f7946940, parameter3 f794663c, parameter4 f720fae8
It doesn't happen every time I turn it off, but it's got to the point where I'm becoming paranoid about turning it off at all, as I've no idea what the problem is.
I've run chkdsk on it twice, as well as my internal hard drive, and there doesn't appear to be any bad sectors or any other obvious problems.
System info:
Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.06GHz, 1.00 GB of RAM
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 3
Seagate ST31500341AS 1.5TB SATAII 32MB Hard Drive
Navigator USB2 3.5" SATA Hard Drive Enclosure USB 2.0 External Case
I recently did a full reinstall too, so hopefully that means it's unlikely to be related to a virus or any other latent bit of rubbish that might have been lurking on my system. From what I can gather, Error code 00000024 seems to be something to do with the NTFS file system, but any more than that is beyond me.
Anyway, any info at all would be much appreciated.
