Hi all,
Finally going to get myself an SSD, just asking the easiest way to transfer my existing files (including Windows) on my HDD to the new SSD.
There's most probably a program for this and if so I'm looking for recommendations of the best and most user friendly!

Thanks

IMO, you really should reinstall Windows onto the SSD instead of moving it.

However, you can use a wide range of cloning tools to copy the Hard drive to the SSD.

Aah, so a new Disk should equal a new version of Windows as well?

What do you mean?

When you purchase a new storage drive, whether it be an HDD or SSD, it needs to be equal or larger than the original drive if you plan to clone it.

For example, if you have a 500GB hard drive that you want to clone to a 250GB SSD, it cannot be done. If those values are swapped, it can be.

The Windows OS will consume about 60GB of your hard drive space once all of its updates have been applied.
