[SOLVED] Trying to make a gif with a transparent background

i'm trying to make a gif with a transparent background, all the images i'm using are .png files which have a transparent background. But when i make them into a .gif and save them in imageready they always have a white background.

(no problem atall when i watch the .gif in imageready, but as soon a i do a preview in internet explorer or save it the white background suddenly appears)

What's going wrong? i've run our of ideas and can't see where that background's coming from.

How are you saving the final image..."save" or "save as".

If you are using one of these options you will get the white background...you should use the "save for the web" option and in there, opt for the transparent background.
