when starting my truck it will crank over and over for about 10 seconds until oil pressure reaches 30 psi then starts and runs fine. When it is already at operating temp truck will not start unless I dump gas down intake. Any ideas on what issue could be?
Which version of the 4.3 do you have? If you have the one with the spider injectors your fuel pump is probably failing. That system needs a very high pressure to start and when the pump starts to weaken it just won't start. I had this exact issue with my 1994 vortec 4.3.
Get a gage and check the fuel pressure with the ignition on (not cranking) if it is below spec it won't start. IIRC the spec is ~65 psi... mine was like 55 psi and it wouldn't start. New fuel pump fixed it right up.
sounds like the fuel pump relay is not getting the prime signal from the computer, when fuel is dumped down throttle body, that is priming the system... possible bad fuel pump relay.
