I currently have a crap best buy bought computer with a ASUSTeK Computer INC. CM1730,CM1830 Rev X.0x motherboard and I am looking to upgrade the cpu to either
Newegg.com - Intel Core i5-2300 Sandy Bridge 2.8GHz (3.1GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 2000 BX80623I52300
or
Newegg.com - Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 3000 BX80623I52500K
and I was wondering if they would be compatible with that ASUS motherboard

Where did you get the model numbers from. Asus shows each of those to be a different PC, neither of which will support those processors. What's the model of the motherboard?

ASUSTeK Computer INC. CM1730/CM1830 is AMD platform (AMD Phenom II X6 1065T)
so no Intel CPU will work.

Yes, that is my computer that I was looking to upgrade but I guess I will need to look into AMD processors instead, thanks for the info.

Edit: If I am looking to get a comparable AMD processor, would that fit on that motherboard?

OEM PC Mobo/Bios are made for them making it difficult to determine what CPU's will/will not work. Contacting the manufacturer is the best option to insure compatibility.
