Google Beep Codes or post the beeps and the sequence you hear.

I've tried google but I can't find them, I've even tried the Emachines site and they don't have them. The sequence is 5 short beeps, I hope that helps.

Google

There is no official standard for these codes due to the many brands of BIOS that are out there. To decode the meaning of your computer POST beep codes you need to know your computer's BIOS manufacturer (AMI, Phoenix, Award, etc). You should see this displayed on-screen while your computer during POST.

That being said, five short could be an AMI code meaning a processor failure/error. Are you overclocking?

5 Beeps can refer to Mobo problems. A failing CPU can be the source.

[SOLVED] Beep codes, but everything seems fine
My friend asked me to get working an old computer that he got. The only thing I can find out is that it is an "everex" computer. Nothing else. It has vista on it, 2gb of ram, and an 80g hard drive. I am going to downgrade it to xp, but whenever the computer boots there is just one beep....
