hello. i am running an amd fx4100 quad core processor with stock 3.6 ghz, turbo boost to 3.8ghz on an asrock 990fx extreme3 mobo. I was wondering when or how often the turbo boost actually kicks in? does it boost pretty much every time the cpu hits 100%? or how does it work? is it worth having on or should i just oc the cpu and leave the turbo off. thanks
If your CPU is not up to the demands you are presenting to it then manual OC'ing might be a good alternative, if, you're components are top quality to take the added stress/heat that OC'ing introduces.
