I was trying to get a beta version of Chromium OS working and I put it on my flash drive so I could boot from it (didn't work ) and then I came back to Explorer to erase my flash drive, and I formatted it several different times with different formatting types and allocation sizes, but no matter what I did, I couldn't make it go back to its original size. It shrunk 3 gigabytes, from 4gb to 996 megabytes. My OS is 32 bit - so I THINK I was formatting in 32 - bit every time. I tried small and big allocation sizes, and I tried fat, fat32, ntfs, and exfat. Nothing made it the original size. The flash drive is an OCZ 4gb Diesel.

Try a program such as Killdisk. Aside from that, it sounds like a failed drive.

Thanks, worked like a charm. Apparently neither explorer nor the windows disk utility could see the unallocated space on the drive.
*cough* m$ sucks...
