Yes.

There is an app on Cydia for this, but there is also one in the App Store. I don't recall their names, though.

Jailbreaking a PS3 is not required to do either method.

Re: ipod touch on the ps3

This is intresting, I have never really had a use for remote play on the ps3 well apart from using as a song selector from the songs on my ps3. Is it different on the iphone. itouch?

I don't know.

What I do know is that with the app, the PS3 or XBox 360 recognizes the iDevice as a music server.

You can then browse the music and play it on your console.

Re: ipod touch on the ps3

Ohhh so it sets your i device to be a network device to stream media from, thats really cool. I dont think I would need it as my laptop acts as a media server for my house but that is a brilliant idea and defiantly worth looking into.

I thought you were referring to remote play as it is on the psp, whereby you can use the basic functions of the ps3 remotely, either locally or over the net.

Re: ipod touch on the ps3

Let us know how that app works for you....

You can manually connect your phone to your ps3 through bluetooth if you can get the mac address from the console.

Not sure the easiest way to do this but I know you can do it from your computer using a tool like DS3

If you want your screen to appear on the tv, you need an Apple TV and wait for iOS 5 (iOS 5 offers wireless AirPlay streaming).

Re: ipod touch on the ps3

Would I be right in saying that you are trying to play ps3 games on your ipod touch? Or play Ipod games through your tv

Re: ipod touch on the ps3

As far as I know this is not possible at the moment. There is evidence that work has begun on a project to try and do this but I can see some problems. I can not see a legitimate method of doing this that will not have massive input lag rendering all but turn based games unplayable. As an Itouch screen is quite small, emulating all a ps3 controllers buttons is not going to easy/intuitive. As you will have to be near to both a ps3 and a computer, the best this can be is a cool novelty rather than a usable gaming set-up. Maybe when the PS Vita is released more progress will be possible. Take a look at this if you are still interested:

IPhone: Play PS3 Games on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad with everyAir
