Confused What is a good Remote Admin Software?

VNC, Radmin, PCanywhere, on and on the list goes.

I'm willing to pay $30 or so for a good secure piece of software.

Basically I want to remote control the church's PC from home.

I/me (XP Professional, Router, High Speed Cable modem)
Church (XP Home, Router, High Speed DSL)

I'm going to open ports other than default on both ends. I've downloaded the free version of VNC but I know it is not as secure.

I'd appreciate any suggestions...jay

There's a couple ways you could go. GoToMyPC is commonly mentioned but it's a bit pricey, logmein reg. is free, mywebexpc is 8 bux a month. If you know a little bit about computer/firewall/routing you could just use TightVNC.

I prefer UltraVNC for my remote control needs. It's basically an upgraded TightVNC.

Reverse HTTP Starter (http://www.m-azlan.com/software/rhs/index.html) will let you initiate a reverse VNC connection from your workplace even if it is behind a firewall and works well with even the free version of VNC. It's quite reasonably priced and very versatile. You just need to whip up a few simple batch scripts (depending on what type of SSH or tunneling software you use) and it'll execute them for you at will. I use it myself.

Cute program. Now that I see how it works, I think an afternoon with VC++ would be sufficient to build it.

We are using a beta release of Labtech NMS. It is very powerfull and easy to use. It installs and runs on windows machines. No domain controllers or username and passwords to remember. Best of all it works behind firewalls with no aditional configuration of the routers. I emailed them for the beta but it looks likes it will be available to the general public very soon.

Check it out here www.labtechsoft.com

I think I would prefer to use EchoVNC over that.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/echovnc/

But I will agree with Johnwill on using UltraVNC.

I have also wanted to test out GenControl since I saw someone recommend it the other day.
