Exclamation File and Printer Sharing settings reset on boot

I'm in the middle of restoring a Windows XP computer after a drive failure, and on the new system, the Turn On File and Printer Sharing setting has been forcing a reboot and always resets itself to Off after the restart.

Re: File and Printer Sharing settings reset on boot

drive fail and new system usually don't go together since they mean two different things. one means a drive replacement whereas the other means a new mainboard/system.

What are you using for restore? and where did the restore content come from?
