Cant open port?

I have a netgear dgn1000 connected to a linksys e2500 and i cant get port 433 open at all. Ive been on portforwarding and tried to set a static ip address but can't put the same ip address in both routers??? ive manual added the port 433 to both, but on canyouseeme.org it says connection timed out. I'm stuck for ideas any help or a guide would be fantastic, thank you. Ive also disabled the firewall in the linksys and windows firewall is disabled aswell.

Re: Cant open port?

You should get portforwarding working on the first router before you get it working on the 2nd.

You also need to understand you do this in series. for example

wan ip{router1}lan ip<>staticip wan interface{router2}lanip<>static ip of pc being forwarded to.

public ip{router1}subnet x{router2}subnet y

router1 forwards to router2 wan portip. router2 forwards to pc with static ip

Re: Cant open port?

"how do i go about it"

I drew you a dot to dot how to do it in my first post.

Your first issue is your subnetting. You have the same subnet on both lan router interfaces which results in the second routers wan interface being the same subnet as its lan. You can't route with that

I explained this with this
public ip{router1}subnet x{router2}subnet y

so in your case
82.31.23.65[wan]router1[lan]192.168.0.1<cable>192.168.0.2[wan]router2[lan]192.168.1.1
