INTERNET SPEED CONTROL FOR MULTIPLE DEVICES

Have Charter’s Internet Ultra 100 Mbps internet. Issue; 4 Ethernet direct connections and 2 Laptops running at WiFi, along with numerous Kindles, Ipads, ect. Been told Charter modems are not capable of distributing the 100 Mbps to any of the devices except one with out speed/stalls/shut down issues. Also mentioned that there is a device that can be used that would distribute the 100 Mbps to all the direct Ethernet connections to run the 100 Mbps each, along with using the Ethernet connection for the WiFi router to boost the WiFi power. The Charter tech wasn’t knowledgeable about these devices but had heard it was an option for customers with our issues.

I have zero technical ability, so desperate for help finding the correct device. Purchased a small Hub but doesn't seem to be working as the tech said the device would. Thank you.

you have cable internet, you cannot get the same speed on all devices, especially if several are being used at the same time In addition you are sharing with your neighbors, if they are using it the same time as you, then you will have slower speeds. You have 100 Mbps - that is very fast, most likely you will never see any noticeable slowdowns unless there are technical issues. I don't know if there is a device such as you are looking for, but imo, if there is, it is not needed.

there may be only one in the area but there are others with slower connections and it will will still affect you. Think about a highway, you are travelling 100 mph, while everyone else is going a lot slower, eventually you will be slowing down too because of the slower but heavy traffic.

only if there is an actual problem but so far you have not mentioned any problems other than what happens during normal cable usage - at least until you said it cuts out. what do you mean by cutting out? One other thing you must remember, you are still limited by the distance from the router, by the home layout and material and interference from other home devices and appliances.
