[SOLVED] Internet Connection at Parents' House?

I used to be able to connect online when I brought my iPad or laptop to my parents' house. The password key was their phone #. Before, the modem in the house wasn't connected to any computer. It was just in the house.

Now, my mom had her modem directly connected by the ethernet cable to her desktop & I can't connect to the internet anymore. I tried typing in the phone # as the password, but it won't work.

She seems to have 2 modems for some reason: A Netgear one and a brand called Aris.

How can I connect to the internet? If no one knows here, I guess I'll have to have my mom call her ISP. Thanks in advance!

Re: Internet Connection at Parents' House?

she may have a modem and a router

if its just a modem , then its likely that it will only support one device by ethernet and will not have a wireless connection

usually the modem is connected to a router - to allow more than one device to connect
also the wireless key is often written on the bottom of the router

whats the exact models of the two modems ?
