OS: Windows 7 64 bit



Hi when i use Tor in Firefox i keep getting this mesage The proxy server is refusing connections
Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections
It was working ok since i downloaded it and followed the configeration of the proxy settings but now it just shows that mesage

Hope some one can help me with this

Hi,

I am going to ask the simple questions in have you tried to restart tor, and firefox? Also, are you using tor and firefox tor plugin?

yes i have restarted tor and firefox several times im useing tor vidalia polipo bundle it was working fine till now

change the proxy then restart ur firefox

If you have downloaded the latest Tor bundle as of 5/1/2013, they changed the control port erroneously in the configuration. Start Tor, and bring up the Vidalia control panel. Click on the ADVANCED button, and change the control port from 9151 to 9051. You should be able to see the network now. Or, you could change the control port in your browser proxy from 9051 to 9151 instead, the choice is yours... I hope that everyone having problems with this find this message, as NOTHING else I have read has been even slightly helpful. Responses like "change your proxy" just **** me off. Change it to WHAT??? It took me quite a lot of time perusing config files before I noticed port 9151 wasn't in any of them.
