[SOLVED] Too Many Windows on Opening
Firefox (now 6.0.2) always asked me if I want to close all windows or save them for restart. At somepoint I checked a box, I think don't ask again. Since then, it always opens on my start page plus the two other windows and the sites I was on that day. I deleted FF and reinstalled but chose to save old settings. How can I get FF to just open one window? Thanks.

Re: Too Many Windows on Opening
"Firefox (now 6.0.2)"
Firefox is now at v8.0, not 6.0.2
"How can I get FF to just open one window?"
I think you probably mean "open one tab", not one window (there is a difference).
Options > General (tab)
Where it says "When Firefox starts....", click the drop-down arrow and select "Show my home page". Then click 'OK'.

Re: Too Many Windows on Opening
Aw, shucks. I thought you had solved the problem. But
in options I have that selection, not save all windows and tabs, hilighted. I'll update FF and try again. You were absolutely right though, I meant tabs. Thanks. If it corrects on update with the proper setting for opening on home page I'll let you know.

Re: Too Many Windows on Opening
Okay, I downloaded 8, still opened 2 old tabs along with home page. In options, tabs, I told it to warn me when closing tabs, under general told it to open blank page. Closed out, reopened and it worked. One tab, blank. But no joy. In General told it to open home page and I'm back to square one, home page and 2 old tabs.

Please post the full text from your Options > General > Home Page entry so we can see if there's a problem with the link.
Have you cleared the cache recently? Go to Tools > Recent History, set the Time Range to 'Everything', select the Cache box and click the Apply button.

Re: Too Many Windows on Opening
Not sure what you mean, but under General where I can make an entry is: Show home page on startup, then my my.yahoo page is inserted. Box is checked for show download page when downloading a file. Not checked for close it when all downloads are finished. Checked before save files to:, and my downloads folder is designated. Not checked, always ask me where to save files.

Re: Too Many Windows on Opening
It's ok, I just wanted to see if your home page entry was several websites separated by the | character. See here for explanation: Multiple tabs open when starting Firefox | Troubleshooting | Firefox Help
If you're sure that my.yahoo is the only entry and the URL is correct, then your problem is not due to multiple home pages.
In your first post you said " I deleted FF and reinstalled but chose to save old settings." Try again, but this time don't save your old settings. Backup your bookmarks before uninstalling.

Re: Too Many Windows on Opening
Hey, thanks, but when I actually read my homepage of my.yahoo, it went on to name those other two. It was just opening what I told it to open. Simple matter to fix.
