[SOLVED] 175 Tabs Lost

So, basically, I had 175 tabs up because I'm a huge idiot. It makes Firefox really unstable and freeze and crash a lot, and I should have just saved the URLs, but I didn't think it was needed since I have never lost my tabs after countless crashes. I thought they were safe.

However, I was recently downloading a lot of art and a bit were in high res images (around 4k x 3k). It was taking five minutes to load them, which is probably usual for images of that size, but I thought I might try and speed it up. So, I go and clear the cache thinking it might help. I had never cleared my cache before after using Firefox on this PC for years, and...it froze...for fifteen minutes when I hit the clear button. When it finally finishes, I resume downloading the images. They didn't seem to loading much faster. The browser started freezing again a few minutes later though and didn't stop, so I had to close it.

Now, I ran it again and...all my tabs are gone. It is pretty devastating. -_- I didn't think the cache had anything to do with the current tabs that were up. The Restore Previous Session option in History is grayed out and there is nothing in Recently Closed Tabs.

Surely there is some way to recover my tabs or undo the cache clear? Perhaps a system restore would help? I would be forever indebted to anyone that can tell me how to get my tabs back.

Re: 175 Tabs Lost

I just realized my TabGroups Manager add-on saves all your open tabs every hour for up to five hours, so I just restored them from that. Disaster averted. Phew.

There is no way of restoring the cache or history of Firefox.

Re: [SOLVED] 175 Tabs Lost

Thanks for posting back with your solution.

I also use the TabGroups Manager addon, as well as Tab Mix Plus.

With these 2 addons installed, I've always got at least 4 session backups, but rarely have to go back beyond the last one. Very useful for people who use lots of tabs.
