It really bugs me that any site can stop me from closing a tab, is there an extension that'll stop that?

Hi,

My first question is do you have your pop-up blocker enabled? If so then you should have a lot of the pop-ups go away.

Cheers!

In my experience SpywareBlaster works excellent, small program low on resources. Also I would disable third party cookies in your privacy settings for Firefox. SpywareBlaster also works with Internet Explorer. If you download this program select manual updating, this allows you to receive free updates.

Thank you both for your assistance.

Yes I have adblock and pop-up blocking, they work fine. I presume the site is disguising the alert message as something official. That's my only guess as to why closing it would take priority over closing the tab.

I'll see if disabling third part cookies works before installing anything.

Disabling cookies seems to have worked, thank you all for the help.
