Getting ad at top of pane

For some URLs (some amazon product pages and google.com when I search for a product), I get an add at the top of the Firefox (v53.0.3) pane and just below the Bookmarks Toolbar.

I've attached an image of the ad.

I'm running Windows 10.

Does anyone here know if this ad is a symptom of a virus infection? Any suggestions for getting rid of the ad?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Not a virus. A virus basically just corrupts files.

Something like this would better fall under the category of malware. But more likely, whatever that bar is was simply installed inadvertently.

If you right click on it, do you get a menu, name, or any other info?
