sure thing. i went to this:

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\a61ifsli.default\bookmarkbackups


ans copied the most recent here:

C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\profile

then i deleted the one with the smaller file size (the one that was there before you copied the other) and renamed it bookmarks. then restart firefox and your bookmarks should be there. i think in the versions higher than 1.6 there is that cache of bookmark backups in the same place, but don't take my word on that. note that your quick bookmarks above the 'tabs' are not saved. hope that helps everyone

 

I think the newer versions of Firefox from 1.6 onwards save 5 backup profiles. For future reference, you might want to try MozBackup which saves all your profile settings, bookmarks, etc to a file that can be restored if Firefox crashes and you lose everything.
