Hello,
I hope this is in the right forum. I'm suspecting that it's not just a Firefox issue, however, so I apologise if it should be in a different forum.
Since a few days ago, certain aspects of some websites aren't loading for me. For example, nothing located under http://l-stat.livejournal.com is loading (which includes stylesheets and images). The rest of the Livejournal website seems to be working fine, but anything located under that subdomain is not coming up, and when I try to access e.g. an image or stylesheet directly, I get:
DNS error occurred. Server cannot be found. The link may be broken.
I'm having a similar problem on another website where site images are located under a certain subdomain; none of those images are loading.
And so far I've come across one site (amongst those which I regularly browse) which I just cannot access at all (The Official website of Manchester Phoenix Ice Hockey Club). I get the same error as above. But the majority of sites seem to be loading completely fine.
At first I thought it was a website issue, but nobody else is reporting the same problems, and all of these websites load completely fine using a different computer, or by using Safari on my iPhone.
The reason I don't think it's a Firefox issue either is that I'm getting the same thing, with exactly the same websites (or parts of websites), in IE and Chrome.
A couple of weeks ago I had a weird issue wherein the proxy settings of my browsers got changed without me doing anything, but I simply switched them back.
WHAT I'M RUNNING:
Windows Vista on a HP laptop with a wireless connection
AVG (Free)
Malwarebytes (installed yesterday)
WHAT I'VE TRIED SO FAR:
Cleared the cache
Re-checked proxy settings
Checked and disabled Adblock on Firefox
Checked the HOSTS file
Ran an AVG scan (came back clean)
Ran a Malwarebytes scan (came back with one Trojan.Agent which it apparently got rid of, but the problem is still there...worth a Safe Mode scan, maybe?)
I hope this is in the right forum. I'm suspecting that it's not just a Firefox issue, however, so I apologise if it should be in a different forum.
