cant uninstall firefox

i tried using firefox, didnt like it, so decided to stick with internet explorer. now im unable to uninstall firefox. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You can uninstall Firefox by using the 'Add/Remove Programs' in your Control Panel.

Have you run a full virus scan on your computer?
Are there any other programs that can't be removed using the add remove tool? If so it is more likely a "Windows" problem rather than Firefox "program" related such as corrupted program files.
Can you uninstall in safe mode? Just an idea.
Sometimes a Windows "repair install" fixes these things, but I think it might be a registry issue, in which case a repair install won't help.
Hopefully some of the TechSupportForum "higher ups" have some suggestions.

Hello and welcome, wendio.

Firefox is a very.. "attached" program, meaning it goes deeper into your system than just "Add/Remove", boom it's gone.. you'll need a real uninstaller, try Revo Uninstaller, and select "Firefox", if it's not available then re-install Firefox, then remove it.

try this one.. right click on the firefox icon on your desktop.
choose properties
click on find target button
look for uninstall folder and open it.
click the helper to remove it.. :-)

I'am having a real problem trying to uninstall firefox from my computer. It's not in my add or remove program. I have Revo uninstaller and it's not in there. How can I uninstall it if I can't find it anywhere? I don't like firefox.....Please Help

Run C Cleaner and see if you can pick out the FireFox registry items.

C Cleaner is a freeware registry cleaner. Folks around here will tell you that registry cleaning causes more harm than it does good. But you can run just a scan of the registry, then check off specific items that you want to delete. So hopefully you can find some registry entries related to FireFox.
That's bizarre that you can't find FireFox in your add / remove list. Are you looking for "Mozilla Firefox"? It should be in the list. If not I question whether your install went smoothly, whether you may have a virus, and/or whether some of your Windows operating system files may have been previously shredded by a virus.

Right click on the Firefox icon on your desktop or quick start menu and select 'Properties'. Now select 'Find Target'. The folder containing the Firefox installation will now open - if it is still installed. Locate the 'Uninstall' folder and double click on the 'helper.exe' file. This will now start the uninstallation wizard to guide you through the uninstall process.
