Try disabling your extensions one at a time. Most likely one of them is causing the problem.

Have you tried reinstalling Firefox? That might take care of it.

Or save your bookmarks (Bookmarks--Organize Bookmarks--Import and Backup--Backup). Download (not install) newest version of Firefox and note where the file is saved. Then uninstall Firefox. Control Panel--add/remove programs--Firefox
Then click Start- Run - Regedit Enter

Navigate to Local Machine / Software / Mozilla

Click on Mozilla one time so it is highlighted. Press Delete Button on keyboard.

Exit Regedit

Reinstall Firefox that you downloaded. Import your bookmarks -- Bookmarks --Organize Bookmarks -- Import & Backup -- Restore (select your file)

I'm pretty certain you may have already checked this but, when you go to Tools > Options and look at the General tab does it say to start Firefox at homepage or at a blank page?

Ok, try closing Firefox Go to Start > All Programs > Mozilla Firefox and then click on Mozilla Firefox (Safemode).

 

WCBaller here and I seem to be having the same thing/problem? I mistakenly downloaded a software that I believe is yahoo-firefox browser related, but not compatible, from a site I stumbledupon. It had all sorts of tabs opening, as soon as I closed 1 tab, another opened, and soon I found my desktop cluttered with all sorts of blank tabs that led to nowhere and did nothing. Apparently a loop of sorts generated by one of my add-ons thru firefox which states only visit sites I trust. :upset: Anyway now my mozilla firefox 3.8 :1angel: won't load..think thats the version...and when I visit a page thru my bookmarks, it does the same thing plz help me delete firefox entirely to get a fresh start!!! tnx This my first time posting! Help ...in a hurry.

I would recommend that you have a look at this thread. It seems like you go infected with something. Follow the thread as best you can and then post in the forum they tell you to. The folks there will help you with fixing your computer.

which version firefox? this is important some version not working properly
Before start installation check in the setup file compability and select vista sp2 if you have win7 and run as an administrator.

 

Thank You. I have had it checked by the ISP Telstra technician and he said it`s the Netgear external adapter that is the problem causing disconnection of the cable wifi and recommends putting in a wireless card.:wave:
