What is your take on Anti-Exploit programs? I had Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit on both our laptops (free version). All it seemed to do was slow down the connection to the internet. My husband's Dell laptop (wired via ethernet cable and tested via WIFI) took almost a minute to connect. (Once connected things ran fine). My Asus laptop (connecting WIFI) wasn't quite as slow, but both laptops definitely started responding faster when the program was turned off.
How important is this type of security? We both use Malwarebytes Anti-virus, I use Windows Defender and my husband has McAfee. I know that you can get too many programs and then they can conflict...so the quandry....how much is really needed.
Both of us use our laptops for general Internet searches (very careful what sites and links we click on), a little banking (paying bills), emails, and Facebook. No online gaming, etc.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Also, would the paid version of Anti-Exploit work better and not slow things down - or would it be worse because it checks more things?
Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit was an early software that didn't really kick off. My assumption is that anybody who wanted an anti-exploited just used Microsoft's free one.
The latest version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware now has Anti-Exploit built right into it. I use this new version and it functions fine without slowdowns.
If you're safe on the internet and are careful on what your download/visit, then your anti-exploit tool won't have much to do.
My suggestion is to run Windows Defender for the anti-virus, and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for anti-malware and anti-exploit.
Thanks Much. I'm not sure I spoke correctly in the previous message. We DO HAVE Malwarebytes Anti-Malware....and it works fine. Great to know that the Anti-Exploit is built in and no more programs are needed.
Thanks for the info but now I have a question and I may need to contact Malwarebytes - but you guys are so smart I thought I'd ask you first.
I have Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium version 2.2.1.1043 with a lifetime license and all my updates have come free. I find no way to "upgrade" or "update" to the 3.0 version. Are they making current users (like me) buy it now because they aren't making any money on the lifetime licenses? I have had this license for LOOONG time and it was for multiple computers.
I researched 3.0 a little bit and couldn't find any where for current users to download the newer version as an update. I also noticed several sites offering a lifetime license for the 3.0 but that wasn't on the Malwarebytes site. Is this program now going to be a yearly license deal from now on? And do I have to buy it or is there a way to download the newer version. Also is there a way to get a license for multiple computers?

Version 3.0 is a little buggy I am finding and I believe that is the reason they are not forcing the update to everybody. If you wish to update it, you can download and install it over version 2.0:
Exactly you have to download and install it yourself and your lifetime coa is good for it though you may have to put in the Key and ID again, maybe not.
