This just started. I am WIFI connected to the printer. When I initiate a print job the status dialog comes up indicating "Creating Print Data" The progress bar moves very slowly and eventually the message changes to "Printer not responding". The odd thing is that the printer wakes up at some point and proceeds with the print job. Eventually the status dialog drops out. Occasionally the horrid 6C10 error comes up and I have to go through sequences of power off/pull the plug/maybe reboot the computer to clear it.
Tested from 2 other computers -- a Windows 10 computer displays the same problem. A Windows 7 laptop does not. I added a USB connection from my main (Windows 10) computer and printing through that interface is OK, no delays.
Using wireless printers the experience is always way slower than wired but it also sounds like you should look for new printer driver as well as possibility of firmware needs updating.
Have you update printer drivers in Windows 10 and then tried to update your printer driver there as Windows 10 has most printer drivers but you need to update the printer drivers in Windows Update to see them all.
Thanks for the suggestion. I searched for updated drivers via the control panel Update Device Drivers function and it informs me that all drivers are up to date.
Its getting weirder. My main Windows 10 machine has started printing correctly to the WIFI printer (WS) version with the expected print dialog. The other Windows 10 machine still exhibits the "Creating Print Data" dialog and a long printing delay.
As far as I know - nothing. I did check on drivers but was told that they were all up to date. Searching on "Creating Print Data", which I've never noticed when printing without problems, there were discussions about the detection of another computer using the printer - which I know is not the case.
